About This Villa

Why this villa works

Villa de la Luz — house of light — is a newer villa on the Pacific side of gated Pedregal, and at 6,100 square feet it is the most generously proportioned house of its bedroom count in the community. The architecture is distinctive: marble and tile floors, custom wall finishes, a domed ceiling in one of the bedrooms, and tropical planting around the whole property. Each of the five bedrooms is named for a cactus and has its own bathroom. A sixth sleeping room, the Surfer Room, sits across the breezeway from the main house with its own bathroom.

How the villa lives

Designed around group travel

Indoor Living

Marble and tile floors run throughout, with custom wall finishes and hand-carved furniture in the primary suite. The gourmet kitchen has granite counters and a water filtration system. There is a game room with a pool table, a gym, a private living room in addition to the main one, and indoor dining. The villa is arranged over multiple levels.

Outdoor Living

A recently renovated custom pool, heated on request, has a waterfall and an adjoining jacuzzi. There is a palapa, an outdoor shower, a barbecue and grill, outdoor dining, lounge chairs and an uncovered sun deck, all set within tropical landscaping. Tennis is available in the community, and there is a children's playground immediately next door.

Bedrooms

Five bedrooms sleeping thirteen, each with its own bathroom, plus a separate Surfer Room. The Saguaro Room is the primary: a California king with hand-carved furniture, a custom bathroom with a two-person tub, double sink and separate shower, a walk-in closet, patio, safe and smart TV. The Hedgehog Room has a king and a bathroom with twin shower heads and a double sink. The Cholla Room has a king, a sitting area and a walk-in closet. The Prickly Pear Room has two queens and is set up with children in mind. The Barrel Room is round, with a domed ceiling, a king, a small patio and its own bathroom. The Surfer Room, reached across the breezeway from the main house, has a twin bed and a private bathroom.

How do the bedrooms work at Villa de la Luz?

Five bedrooms sleep thirteen, and each has its own bathroom. There is also a separate Surfer Room across the breezeway from the main house, with a twin bed and a private bathroom, which is useful for an older child or a single guest. The Prickly Pear Room has two queens and is set up with children in mind.

Is it a good villa for children?

Yes. There is a children's playground immediately next door, a game room with a pool table, and a high chair and pack and play travel crib are provided. One bedroom is arranged specifically for children. Note that the villa is set over multiple levels and the pool is not fenced, so young children will need supervision.

How far is the beach?

The Pacific shore is roughly a quarter of a mile from the villa and downtown Cabo San Lucas about half a mile. Beach essentials are provided. Please ask us about swimming conditions on the Pacific side before you plan a beach day, as they vary and differ considerably from the bay.

Can we hold an event at the villa?

Events are permitted subject to approval. Tell us the occasion and numbers when you enquire and we will confirm terms and any additional cost with the owner.
